“Come in from the Cold”

For today’s writing, I can take no credit.

It is a timely poem. It was timely in 2005, and it still is today.

I proudly share with you “Come in from the Cold.” Written by my momma:

“Come in from the Cold”

It’s a cold and lonely world these days we’re livin’ in

As men search for the truth to find their way

My mind can’t comprehend the load of guilt and sin

When we cling to the night and refuse the day.

Come in from the cold,

Won’t you come in from the cold?

God’s prepared us a place with Him to be.

It’s been paid for by His blood

So that we can all be free.

Won’t you come in, come in from the cold?

My eyes can’t believe the sights they’re taking in

As I watch the days’ events on nightly news,

But I’m sure we’ll find the strength to go on again

To reach out for the lonely and confused.

Come in from the cold

Won’t you come in from the cold?

God’s prepared us a place with Him to be.

It’s been paid for by His blood

So that we can all be free.

Won’t you come in, come in from the cold?
