Silent Praise
“Silent Praise”
God, here comes the silence.
My story, my song, praising my Savior
All the day long, now has a difference.
In our quiet moments together
Your praise used to pour out from me.
Now a void manifests in my heart
And loud silence where joy used to be.
So take the groanings of my heart
That’s all I have to offer lately.
I don’t remember how to start
Praying with gratitude faithfully.
But somehow through the tears,
in still moment in your presence,
I think of your ways over the years.
If you were able to turn vessels of water
Into good wine that was celebrated,
If you were able to turn the ocean floor
To paths where your people were liberated,
Then can you take my moments in tears,
Can you turn the silence on my lips,
Into worthy praise on your ears?
