Would God Say He Is Pleased with Your Life?
Would God say he is pleased with your life?
I had the privilege of teaching this group of ladies last week for the adult class for Vacation Bible School. We were studying Jesus’ baptism when God says, “This is my beloved son whom I love. In him I am well pleased.”
Then our book asked us this question—would God say he is pleased with our lives?
While these ladies far surpass me in wisdom, I didn’t like that the question was open ended. I couldn’t stand the idea of any of these ladies pondering this question and left wondering if God would be pleased with them.
So we turned to God’s Word to see what it has to say on the topic:
Hebrews11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
It is our faith in God that makes us pleasing to him. Abraham’s faith in God is what made him righteous in God’s eyes, and we are given the same opportunity.
And if we seek him, we are rewarded. The gift of knowing his character and his love for you is a great reward in itself.
Zephaniah 3:17: "The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing."
Isaiah 62:5: "As a bridegroom rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you."
Too often, we look at ourselves when we need to look at him. Our faith and trust in him causes him to rejoice over us.
Can you even imagine?
So if someone asks you if you are pleasing to God, ask yourself this instead: Have I put my faith and trust in him?
If the answer is yes, imagine our glorious God dancing over you.
What an AMAZING God we serve!
